Hi Everyone. This is George's full day with us and he is so scared. He
came from a home where there were no other ferrets, just cats, so my other
5 are very strange to him. They've for the most part taken to him, except
Sharkie, who bites his ears and scratches his back.

Those of you who run shelters or have introduced your new ferret who has
never been around them to your others, please, offer your advice and
suggestions and expertise. How did you get them to want to play with one
another? How and when did you let them be in the cage together and sleep
together? George was walking around just hissing, and none of them were
even out. He is doing just fine with me and my husband, and he seems ok
to be around the others, until they start sniffing at him, scratching at
him, biting his ears. Any advice or your experience please email me
direct, as I want George to adapt to them very well, and them to him also.
I've been lucky so far, I've never had ferrets who didn't like one another,
so this is new to me. Any of your experience is appreciated.

One other thing, George was use to eating twice a day as his old Mommy
( she is a wonderful woman ) fed him before she left for work and when she
came home from work, wet cat food. I have a bowl of totally ferret in his
cage with him, but he wont eat. I then bought some of the wet cat food
that he is use to and put it in and he still wont eat, is this normal when
adjusting to a new environment? He plays really well with me and hubby in
the living room, he's fine on his own, but I'd hate to isolate him and have
him be a single ferret when he has five ferret buddies he could snuggle
with and have fun with. Again, please share your experience with us.

Thank You so much.
