To Denise,Kristen,Phyllis who was with me ,Florence,& a host of many
others.There are no words to convey how much your comforting words have
helped me deal with the many loses I've had recently.  Each of the
hospice kids are special.And each is given lots of love & respect.But Lil
Man was my very specialist baby ever.I couldn't talk about him before but
I'm going to try now.
 
He was 4/12 yrs old when I first met him.His human had come to the
shelter to adopt.He was an airman at TAFB in Fl.Poor Lil Man was caged 22
hours a day.Victor finally surrendered Lil Man to another shelter as I'd
come back to Al to care for my parents before their deaths.This shelter
contacted me & I took in Lil Man.It had been love at first sight for
me,Man was blind then.He didn't like other ferrets,but that was ok,he
could be with me.LilMan loved to be held.Always,by anyone.He gave the
sweetest kisses,to anyone.He was such a trusting loveing boy.
 
As he got older,he had more medical things wrong.The last being renal
failure.I could have let him go on for maybe another week.However, Lil
Man deserved to have his dignity.And so,Phyllis went with me & cried
with me.Forshe loved him too.She'd been with him the whole time I was
hospitalized.
 
It's been very hard to deal with Lil Man not being here.Like the death of
a child.
 
And poor Eienstien.He only had a week of pure love.He came from a nasty
shelter.We'd gotten 7 young healthy kids for the sum of 25 Ga lottery
tickets.Thats right.And this shelter is a member of the FML & 501-3c.
BUT for the many sick,needing to see a vet ASAP,Phyl had to pay $250 for
2 & their cage mates.And one was shoved in her arms,a personal of the
shelters.& Phyl was asked to have her vet see what could be done with
this poor kid who is adernal.The shelter can't afford vet bills.They
admitted this.  And 3 of those kids had broken feet.When asked ,the
former shelter op stated"They are broken?"One of the younger lottery
ticket kids had an ear missing.When asked how'd it happen,the shelter
op stated "I dunno."
 
Poor Eienstien was a blind,butterscotch boy,so very sweet.So much like
Lil Man.Just wanted love,to be held,fresh air..You see,he had another
name.Ayucky one.But since the former shelter had to feed him every 4
hours due to him being blind.Thats what was told to us.However, Since he
was a brilliant guy & figured out how to find the food/water bowls & a
litter box ALL by himself,we named him Eienstien.He LOVED kibble & hadn't
had it in years.Oh,& he wasn't allowed out of his cage either at the
former place due to being blind.He did great at both Phyl's & mine.
 
We've called in the AC on this shelter & they were given a slap on the
wrist.These poor animals need to be gotten OUT of there.They,the cages,
are covered on all 4 sides.And in one room,are 3 deep to the walls.As
in,you must move cages to get to the back rows of cages.In the other
room,it was as stated but only 2 deep to the walls.
 
The place is filthy beyond filth.The smell will take your breathe
away.There is dried poop months old along with dried urine.The floor is
so NASTY.It hadn't been cleaned in months.While the place is AC'ed,there
is no ventalation in the ferrets rooms & they are at the bottoms of the
nasty cages ,trying to get some fresh air.
 
So,if ya want to adopt some cheap young kids,get some GA lottery tickets
& head for the panhandle of Fl.And for those that are members here & have
been to that shelter,& left their kids,SHAME on you.You know in your
heart that this place needs help.While at one time their heart was in
it,it's become way to much for them.One has Alkzhimers & the other many
breathing problems due to obesity.These kids aren't even vacced.So many
need to be at a vets.
