San Francisco ferret friendly???

I heard on the radio this morning that San Francisco was voting today on
making the city ferret friendly.  This is the first I heard of anything
like this.  Anyone have any ideas where this came from?  They said the
Audobon Society was opposing the measure.  Should be interesting.  I hope
it will be the first step in helping the whole state go that way.
