I've decided that fleas are a part of the natural world. By that I
mean a flea or two. With daily checking with a flea comb. And if
your ferrets don't even go outside, I'm sure I would worry even less.

I've decided this because, after doing quite a bit of reading on the web,
that probably putting pesticides on your pet isn't that good of an idea.
Especially with pets like cats and ferrets who groom themselves.

I have used flea products in the past and everyone is alive, but, for
me, I just don't want to use them anymore.

HOWEVER, if what I am doing now didn't work, then I would go back in
a heartbeat. A flea or two- no. Covered in the little buggers, more
than likely.

This is what I'm using. And I get these from Petsmart/Petco.

Natural Chemistry De Flea Pet Shampoo
This works wonderfully. I even used it on the one ferret who was lost,
then returned covered in so many fleas I didn't even want to touch him.
A lot of fleas, several shampoos. And they curled up and died. You can
also use it if you are using spot-on products like Frontline.

I'm also using the Sentry Brand of Natural Flea & Tick Repellent. It's a
squeeze on tube, comes in varying strengths and sizes (kittens, puppies,
small dogs, etc) and use natural plant oils like peppermint oil, cinnamon
oil, lemon grass oil and thyme oil.

Now, as I said, I've decided to relax. A flea or two? I'm not going to
go running for the pesticides. Covered in fleas and the above doesn't
work? Then yes, I will head for the Frontline.
