First, the litter. I use the clump-type litter and have no problems.
However, I keep noticing comments that it shouldn't be used, and the reasons
why. Brae has a corner pan, so very little litter (say that one three times
fast!) is needed. Therefore, Brae rarely plays in it. Is it still a good
idea to switch to another kind of litter? If so, I guess the clay kind
isn't good either because of the dust?? I'm trying to locate a
supplier/sample of Stove Chow so I can try that. I'd hate to buy a 20-lb.
bag of it and then have my ferret turn his nose up at it. At a couple of
cups every couple of days, it would take forever to use up!

About ferret math. Looks like it's about to happen at our house. I posted
about the possibility that Brae is lonely, and several have e-mailed me
confirming that you believe he is. My first came from a pet store, and I
was thinking of searching for a shelter and getting one from there.
However, the local pennysaver has an ad that someone has three young ferrets
for sale for $40 each or $200 for all three with a large play cage. I
certainly don't plan to get all three, but I do wonder what I should look
for and what kinds of questions I should ask. Also, when you're buying from
a private owner, is it necessary, or recommended, to keep the new one
separated for a couple of weeks to make sure it doesn't have any kind of
disease or get sick? Or is that mainly when you're buying from shelters?
I would think that if the owner's three ferrets have not been in contact
recently with other ferrets, I could introduce them immediately. Correct?

Please e-mail me directly: I'll probably answer the ad on Friday or
Saturday.

Thanks, all!
