Maybe the poster who doesn't like reading about death didn't mean their post
to sound so harsh and maybe I am taking offense and something that isn't
there but....

I don't write very often and I am one of those "guilty" of posting health
questions and sad endings (I have also posted "fun" stuff, too). One of the
things I have found great about this list is the ability to share your
sorrow with others who "usually" understand what you are feeling. Another
positive (at least IMO) aspect is when someone posts how their ferret died
or became ill. This gives me the knowledge I may need to either prevent or
at least recognize symptoms that I may not have otherwise been aware of.
Again, when people post the medical treatment being used on thier ferret,
that gives me more information to present to my vet if my ferrets ever come
down with the same illness or symptoms. Not everyone is able to enjoy the
peace of mind that comes from having Ferret Specialist Vets! Some of us
have to make do with willing-to-learn vets :) Every aspect of a ferret's
life contributes to our being able to make their (ferrets) lives better and
safer.

So, I'll get off my soapbox and just say, "I appreciate everyone who is
willing to take the time and share whatever aspect of their ferret's life
and/or death they can."
