This is my first post, right now I need to vent. My boyfriend and I went
to look at homes with a realtor today and in one of the homes, was an
older ferret, in some stage of adrenal disease, with barely any water in
his bottle, with no food at all, in a 2 story cage with only a dirty towel
on the top level to sleep on, and shredded newspaper on the bottom level.
There was no litter box and a couple days worth of poop. There was no
sign of ferret food so I fed him some dry kibble crap from the dog's bowl.
He ate it like he was starving. Don't know if these people had gone away
for the weekend and just left him like that or what. They apparently
take the dog while people are looking at the house. I had my realtor
call their realtor and leave a message that I am very concerned about the
ferret which looked neglected, and that I am willing to take the ferret if
they want to surrender it. Otherwise, I will seek other avenues to get
the ferret taken away from them. I hated to leave the little guy there,
but hopefully, I can get him out of there in the next week. I am going
to consult with my local ferret people to see what can be done if they
won't surrender him. Wish me luck. I'm just so sick of heartless, cruel,
ignorant people.
