Don't know about ferrets, but I had a dog that was neutered, and was later
hit by a car (idiot swerved to hit him on purpose).  After the accident,
not only was he really interested in other male dogs, but they were also
very interested in him.  The vet said that his hormones were out of wack,
and we had to get him hormone shots periodically.  After that, he returned
to his normal, self with no more "interest" in other guys.  Hope this
