Subj: FA served with summons
Date: 96-10-04 11:14:21 EDT
From: LEGALIN95

Ferrets Anonymous, Pat Wright, Jane Doe and Does 1-100 were formally served
with a lawsuit by Pamela Winters for the amount of $8,130.50, because Pamela
Winter's 13 yr old son, Kyle was bitten by a ferret that was reported to the
FA lost and found dept.

Ms Winter's attorney mistakenly believes that FA (Pat Wright) had possession
of the ferret and refused to turn it over so it could be destroyed. I never
had the ferret and was not about to help animal control find the ferret so
they could (as they intended) kill it to test for rabies. After animal
control guaranteed they wouldn't kill the ferret, I located it and turned it
in for a rabies quarantine. I was charged with three misdemeanor counts for
turning it in.

The entire organization is being sued for...

"Defendants, and each of them, are and were aware of the vicious and
bloodthirsty reputation of ferrets. In particular, Ferrets (sic) have a
reputation for for unprovoked attacks, often on sleeping and relaxed infants
and children. Ferrets can also carry rabies; there is no vaccine to prevent
rabies in ferrets, and no detailed or complete study of the incubation
period for rabies in ferrets."

Stay tuned

Subj: warrent for arrest issued
Date: 96-10-08 20:06:49 EDT
From: LEGALIN95

Just when I thought things couldn't get any better... A warrant has been
issued for my "immediate arrest" My automobile may be seized without notice.

All for not helping San Diego animal control locate and destroy a ferret I
never saw before.

In addition, we understand the party suing Ferrets Anonymous in this case,
Pamela Winter will not settle for anything under $10,000. And we're not
about to settle at all.

Any kind words and generous contributions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Pat Wright on the lam (or is that lamb?)
