I wanted to reply to the heartworm preventive question.  I use Revolution
flea and heartworm.  It is like advantage with a kick.  I have 4 ferrets,
two being smaller and two being bigger.  I use the small feline(kitten
size)and split it between a small and big ferret.  In the winter I don't
bath them as much and just apply it ever month.  My vet and I spoke with
the manufactur(sp) before using it.  No problems in a year.  I do try to
put it on right before the go to sleep so the don't bite the scrufffs of
another till the next day.
 
All four used to be free roam till I got tired of too many litter boxes.
Nobody wanted the same litterbox.  Since I have started cageing them at
nite and while at work they are more playful and energetic when out.
Before they tended to all get up at different times.  They have a four
story cage and tend to like the tubes over the ramp.
