Absolutely yes!  I was doing neurophysiological research with non-invasive
electroencephalograms on ferrets in graduate school (before medical school)
in the 1960s, and we found that ferrets spent from 18-32% of sleep time in
REM sleep (EEG correlate of the dream state in humans).  Percentages varied
by age of animals.  Infants and young spend more time in REM sleep (true in
virtually all mammals).
