I am so glad you took those babies in!
 
Is it possible that the dark-eyed white (biter) could be deaf?  Often,
DEWs are!  She didn`t bite you, because you held her in such a position
that she could see you (and all around her) & not be startled!  She feels
SAFE with you!  Occasionally, she may have a relapse--but for the most
part, she now feels safe.  They know, somehow...
 
I hope you`ll update us, from time to time, on their progress.
