re: SPCA refusing to adopt out ferrets.
 
I guess I'm awfully naive ... I just have a hard time believing an
organization which is supposedly in favor of good treatment of animals
would rather kill it than give it a good home! Sheesh. I'm going to have
to talk to the local shelters around here. Does anyone else know if that
sort of stupidity goes on in Pennsylvania?
 
[Several organizations are like that.  Humane Societies, SPCA's
etc.  Some "don't believe" that ferrets make good pets.  Thinking
that they're just captive wild animals.  Hell, some veterinarians
think that way.
 
Others are part of the political persuasion that animals are better dead
than "demeaned" by being pets.
