Greetings all! I just wanted to congratulate everyone in Massachusett's on
their new found ferret freedom! Originally I was just going to leave it at
that, but quite frankly I'm not just a little envious. You guessed it, I
live in California. I used to own a fabulous ferret but had to give him
away about 3 years ago; not totally because they are illegal here, but
partly (I didn't know anyone I could safely turn to for advise on a carpet
digging problem - the vet didn't know what to do about it since it was the
only outlaw he ever saw - and my then-apartment manager lost patience with
the whole thing so I gave Zap away so he could live and have a happy life.
I STILL miss him!). I'm waiting patiently and writing letters to Wilson and
Treanor and hoping that this ridiculous law is changed so that I, too, can
once again enjoy ferret company; especially since discovering the FML - what
a great resource for getting questions answered.. I am so happy to hear
that you in Massachusett's were able to change the law there, it gives me
hope.

For now I'm just living vicariously through others' anecdotes. Thank you!
Peace and ferret freedom for all.
