In July of '99 I received a call from a person who was acting as a holding
house for us. There were two ferrets in a pet store that needed rescuing.
They were both adrenal. They were both older "turn ins" from someone who
didn't want them any longer. (G) The ferrets were picked up and taken to
the hold. I was told that they were in dire need of surgery. I told her
to take them in. A month later I received them. No change. The biopsy
was not carcinoma. Why were they not getting any better? Guess what
folks----they were whole!!!!!!! The vet removed the left adrenal and left
them INTACT!!!!!!! I am so angry!! They never told anyone. These poor
little girls have been in estrus for at least 7 months. They are now
spayed and hopefully they will survive.

I know that I have been errant in posting. Podos' necropsy showed liver
failure. It has been a pretty bad month here. I thank everyone for their
kind words and prayers.

Junior has left us. He was not responding to his meds for cardiomyopathy.
We lost Wanda during surgery today. She was a foundling that was bald.
Believe it or not she was a botched spay! MF who had a very large left
adrenal. Liver was a tad yellow. She passed on the table. Her uterus was
infected. She is going to be missed terribly. The stamina of these guys
is just amazing. She never slowed down-even with all her problems.

Thank you all for letting me vent. It seems that no matter how many times
you say it, you have to say it again.
