It has been a tiring few weeks for my sister and myself...each for
different reasons.

I was given back the baby I took care of after the tornado here. To
make sure she knows who her mum is now, I have her free roam in the
bedroom with me at night. About 5 AM she wakes me up with bouncy
bounces. I do not remember any ferret so funny.

She bounces all over my body, then gets under the covers to nip my
legs. I turn on the lights and try and hold her. She squirms out of my
hands and bounces around me as i sit up. I lean over to see her pretty
silver blaze head and baby body. She has bounced up and attached her
teeth to my chin and my lip. She is just insane with energy.

I hold her and scruff her. Oh my. She SCREAMS at me and hisses at me!!!
(She is deaf.) Her paws go to her mouth, pawing and pawing. Her body
wiggles and squirms. (And no...I cannot trim her nails by myself yet.)
She is WILD.

So I am not getting a lot of sleep. But I would not have wanted to miss
these hysterical wake up calls. And I want her to bond with me and know
she is safe now.

Anyway, it was the day to take my mother out of the nursing home to the
Botanical Gardens. We bundled her up and away we went. The weather was
lovely. The flowers were stunning. Such works of art made by nature.
Mom still knew the names of some, and had excellent descriptions of
them. She had a green thumb and was very knowledgable on planting and
the names of flowers and trees. We enjoyed a tasty lunch overlooking a
large pond with heron, fed the birdies our scraps, and headed out..

As Elspeth led us to where the car was parked in parking lot number 4,
she felt it important to verbally convey her discovery. We were
alright, she noted, because the parking lot numbers were in numerical
order. Of course, this news was earth shattering. And it has yet to be
released to the press. I took note and observed that...indeed...the
numbers were in order. This caused the 2 of us tired poop heads to
laugh our heads off. Oh look Elspeth...3 comes after 2 ! It's
amaaaazing!

We found the car, got mom out of the wheel chair into the front and
headed out. As we naturally turned the wrong way out of the gardens,
and turned the wrong way yet again, I felt inclined to be equally
informative. When my sister asked where I felt we should turn ...I
said that ..we should turn on a street.

As we were in the middle of realizing my brilliance with laughter that
brought tears, my mom said it all. My mother, who thinks I am her
sister and that she is in her 50's, was short, sweet and to the point.
As we laughed so hard it hurt, my mother softly declared:

"Koo Koo"

And thus we have the word of the day.
