Hi Big and all on the list

I have been working on this side of the world, together with Cindy and
Lisa in America to find out just what is going on in Denmark.

When I was first contacted with this story I was pretty sure that
Thiggard was using emotional blackmail to get rid of his excess ferrets,
there were a few things that didn't make sense. He said that he had to
get rid of them because of the new laws for cages. Having worked for
the Dutch animal welfare for many years it was simple enough for me to
find out about the new laws. These laws are for fur farms, not for
breeders and Thiggard is not registered as a fur farm. So what is
going on?

Well it seems that Thiggard is up on charges of animal abuse. Exactly
when he is going to court we don't know. He has been accused before and
if Denmark follows the same road as Holland. If he is indicted, the
animal welfare will take charge of his animals and he will not be allowed
to have any more animals in Denmark, so obviously he is trying to get rid
of the animals and get some money from them before the animal welfare
takes them away from him. At the moment we are asking for help for the
angora because this is where it all started, BUT he has a lot of animals
including short fur ferrets. If the animal welfare has to re home all
there animals, that is going to be very hard to do, especaly the ferrets,
so we are worried that a lot of the animals will be put down simply
because the animal welfare don't know what to do with them. With the
petition we are trying to convince the animal welfare that there are
people out there who are willing to help with the ferrets. Although I
do not support the breeding of angora or color variations, I still think
that the ferrets have a right to live out their life and not be gassed.
The 800 ferrets to be gassed are not all angoras. In fact there are
probably more short hair than angora. It is our understanding that it
is a group of short hair, half angoras and agoras that will be gased.

So please everyone sigh the petition, for all the ferrets at Thiggard's
breeding farm. As many people have said on the petition, gas the breeder
and abuser not the ferrets.
