Greetings all.

Here is the poop so far, the parents were charged with child endangering.
As far as the facts I have heard, 1. The ferret was found in the cage.2.
there was no blood on the ferret or in the cage (double checking that) in
the pictures on the news, there is not a drop of blood on the ferret. 3.
They are going for the 10 day quarintine.

At this time, make all the faxes "gentle" encouraging the authorites, and
gently educating them. Monday I will talk with the head of the Cleveland
pound and hopefully work out a quarintine at my shelter. I have been
talking with some other animal human officials in various counties that know
the gentleman in charge and are going to "bat" with me.

I have spoken with him on other occasions, and he is a very reasonable man,
I believe he will be willing to work something out as far as the ferret.

The bites have not been compared to rodent bites, which by the way this
sounds more like a rat attack, than a ferret attack.

In your faxes, please encourage them in comparing the two. Something in
this story does not seem to add up. Wouldn't there be blood on the ferret
if it did that much damage? Gee, even when my guys try to clean up the duck
soup on themselves, there is always some left behind. Would you give a bath
to an animal that just "attacked" a baby?

We are going to get a police copy of the police report to see how it was
reported, after all, that is public domain.

Please, please, please, be gentle in your emails, and faxes, first contact
needs to be on a "friendly" basis. If that gets no where, then we can go on
a more aggressive basis.

Speak softly, and carry a big stick.

By the way, I was in Columbus at the Pet Expo when this all exploded, and
had all kind of messages from the media on the machine when I drove home
early. Oh, the interview with Channel 19 went well, it was positive but not
as much as I had hoped. But we can keep on trying.
