You are definitely misunderstanding what Paula was saying!  {My
interpretation)  A flea bed is an area, in the hair that is super
infested with fleas.  She cut the hair away!  And there is a sore on the
skin from the flea bites.  That is what she doesn't know what to put
something on.  Not an inflected wound.
 
Paula,
If you haven't heard anything else about this.  I would probably use a
triple anti-biotic ointment on the sore...
