OH, how I wish this were true!  Our ferret sanctuary got its 501(c)(3) in
April of 2002.  A 501(c)(3) only makes you tax-exempt, meaning you don`t
have to pay income tax on donations made to your organization.(All of the
money goes for the care & support of the ferrets!)
 
Donations made to a 501(c)(3) organization are tax-deductable.
