Condolences to those with sick or angeled feisty feline renovators...
 
For just about any oil-based stain, I've found Dawn dishwashing liquid to
be perfect for removal.  Add about 3 drops per square inch of stain, rub
vigorously for about 10 seconds, then let sit for about 5 minutes before
rinsing.  Throw in wash with regular load and the stain should be gone.
