It seems really strange to me that anyone would use Frontline for
ear mite treatment when it goes totally against the manufacturer's
recommendations. Unless of course it is only in Australia that Frontline
is for the treatment of fleas alone.

The only thing we find effective in clearing up ear mites is Ivermectin -
obtainable from the Vet and the only thing we have on the market now
which seems to actually prevent ear mites in the first place is
Revolution (which also prevents against heart worm, sarcoptic mange,
fleas, etc. most of which we don't actually come across in Western
Australia anyway).

Labels are put on these products for a reason .... please read them. If
the manufacturer does not think the product is suitable then it probably
isn't and no respectable vet is going to tell you to spray frontline, or
anthing else for that matter, into a ferret's ear when even one drop of
Ivermectin is more than sufficient to do the job.

Regards
Dianne.
