I just called my husband, who is at the vet's with Molly. Dr. Daldin said
that it was not a gastrointestinal infection/blockage as the other vet had
thought, but that it was a form of ECE, which she said was probably brought
in by our newest ferret, Wookie. So she's coming home today with a package
of medications, and hopefully she'll be okay.

How long will it take for ECE to clear up? Will our ferrets be permanent
carriers? Dr. Daldin said we should isolate Wookie for at least a month
(from contact with other ferrets, washing our hands, etc.) to minimize the
chance of infection to our other two fuzzies, Mithril and Obelix. They are
probably carrying it too, but just in case. Neither of them has displayed
any symptoms of getting sick, and the Wookie looks as healthy as ever. Ach,
when it rains, it not only pours, it snows as well!

Molly: "Hey, there's no Duck in this Duck Soup!!"
Mithril: "Lemme steal a little more of that Pedialyte.."
Obelix: <rolls over dramatically and gives us a "poor me" look> "I'm
sick too! Gimme LinatoneraisinsGerberbabyfoodsoftchewyrubberthings!"
Wookie: "Whoops! Sorry guys."
