Hi All!
I've been out of the office for awhile - thanks to Zipper for sneezing
on my face! I still have the cold and feel yucky but my work is piling
up so here I am again. The ferrets have recovered nicely (I can tell
Zipper feels better cause shes back to zig zagging around my feet as
I try to walk!). Someone asked if colds and flus are common in ferrets.
At my house they are but then again I am highly susceptible and they
catch them from me. Being the only human in the house I have to take
care of them and I do transmit it. Guess they got even, huh!

Roaches -
When using pesticides remember that ferrets will eat dead roaches as
well as live ones so whatever the roach died from will pass on to the
ferret. While one roach may not make a difference, 10 probably will.
I used Orkin for several years without any problems but I was constantly
cleaning up any dead bugs before the ferrets got to them. No telling
how many I missed though. Glue traps work great or even double sided
tape attached to walls and cabinets. Roaches get stuck and you don't
have to worry about pesticides.

Amy -
Yep, I'm the one that wrote the article. Glad you learned from it -
that was my intention.

Eye Sight -
Ferrets do not have good eye sight. It is actually pretty poor.

Rabies Info -
I've requested an update on the rabies study from Dr. Briggs. I'll post
her response as soon as it comes.

Ferret Fresh!
Friday I picked up a Glade Teddy Bear night light/air freshener (plug in)
in the After the Rain scent. I noticed that evening that Coco Puffs was
sniffing it and rubbing against it (obviously she liked the scent) but
didn't pay too much attention. Well it was there on Sunday around 4 pm
but later that evening I was playing with Coco and realized she smelled
suspiciously like the After the Rain scent! I looked over and the plug
in was gone. It seems Coco like it so much she took it and rubbed her
little body all over it! I found it and plugged it back in and she's
pretty much left it alone except for a few rubs as she goes by!

Hugs to all! tle
