Hi there!

Some time ago I wrote asking information about pedialyte. I also told you
why I was asking. The last word was that Snoopy was improving a fraction.
Well, the improvement has stopped. In fact, within the last day or two, she
has stopped eating again, except for the stuff that I make up for her. Her
poops are back to being predominately dark-black and tarry and not a large
volume but proportional to what she is eating, which is not much if anything.

Just in case you vets don't remember, or didn't read the post, I will try to
update in as concise a form as possible.

We got her when she was a whole, 2 year old female in heat and even then she
was a loner and every little change upset her. She vohmitted quite
frequently and it was odourless - digested food, not fermented. We tried to
breed her but she just wouldn't get out of heat. We have learned since then
that it was a miracle that she lived because she was in heat all summer. In
Sept. we got her fixed. Gradually the vohmitting spells diminished but
didn't really stop completely for about 2 years. She was always healthy and
fairly active except that she wasn't one to play, either by herself or with
others - ferrets or humans. There were lots of toys but never the interest.
This Spring, she dropped her winter coat like all of the others but it
happened within a week and she lost all of her weight along with it. She
just wanted to sleep, didn't eat, and had diahrea, sometimes regular,
sometimes black and tarry. Something had to be done fast. I made up our
version of duck soup and within a day she got some of her energy back and
over the course of several weeks, her poops became normal and she was eating
on her own. I have never stopped giving her the pedialyte mixture and she
gained about 1 ounce and now she is back where she started. She has no
weight to lose. She never was very large but she is under a pound and is
skin and bones. She can hardly hold up what little weight she has. She
comes alive when offered a raisin but won't eat her regular food on her own.
At least she still eats the liquid I give her. The vet doesn't know what is
wrong and nothing is being done. My Snoopy is wasting a way and I fear will
soon be gone if someone doesn't help her. Please give me some hope here
please. I may not have explained myself very well and if you need more
information, please ask.

Thanks in advance for your help.
