Within the next two months, we'll finally be moving into our house!
Yippee!! My guys will have their own room and we are all excited. It's
14'x11', has a large walk in closet, and access to a bathroom. The floor
is vinyl and I'm going to be securing hardware cloth to the outside of
the windows to prevent any escapes on the days the windows are open. Of
course, not only do I want the room to be fun and entertaining for the
fuzzies, I want it to be a nice place for the humans to relax and play
in, also :-)

I've not yet decided about whether I want the closet to be used as storage
space, or as a smaller "room" for my two territorial fuzzies.

I've got several ideas of what I want to do to increase their actual play
space, but I'm hoping that those of you that have had experience setting
up a ferret room can give me any hints or suggestions. Other things I'm
considering are plexiglass door gates, litter boxes in every corner, two
large cages that are always open, rices boxes/wading pool, tunnels, tents,
lots of toys, and cat trees (I'll tell the gang they are "ferret trees").

The things I'm concerned about are "safe spots" and lots of hidey holes,
keeping the territorial ferrets (1 girl, 1 boy) away from the fuzzies they
fight with, limited access to the bathroom as it's also the guest bathroom,
and that two fuzzies are excellent escape artists. I also do want to be
able to store litter, food, and extra bedding in their room without fear of
it being turned into a mess. I also, of course, want the room to be easy
to clean. With the bunch I have, I've pretty much become a pro on ferret
proofing, but I know that nothing can be completely ferret proofed.

Please, any suggestions would be most appreciated, as I'd like to have most
of it set up before we actually move in. If you'd like to see a floorplan
of their room, you can take a peek at

Thanks!!!
