This may not be so off-topic!

Deslorelin is one of the drugs that is being tested as a treatment for
adrenal disease. It seems to work at least as well as Lupron and is
much less expensive. But because the drug has not been approved for use
in the US, it can only be obtained for experimental use and by jumping
through many legal and bureaucratic hoops.

Approval of the dog for drugs would mean vets could use it for any
veterinary use.

The article says implants for cats and female dogs are also being
developed.
