I don't know who's idea it was to start this, but it's a great one!  (I'm a
few FMLs behind from being on vacation last week and my mom having another
stroke and doing the hospital thing...)
 
Anyway, I'm Mary, my husband is Rob (a keeper even after 25 yrs), but he
never posts, just says "yes OK" to more ferrets, big grin.  I joined the
FML around a year ago.  It was mentioned to me by a couple of ferret
people, thanks Trish and Sharon Burbine!  It has been a great resource
and comfort through the ups and downs.  BIG, thanks for making it so.  I've
even met some wonderful ferret people in my own area because of this list,
and converse with some wonderful ferret people that I have never met.
 
On to my kids... Our first was Rowdy (MF from pet store) the perfect first
ferret, my furryless wonder!  He crossed the bridge in July of this year.
Out of 17 ferrets that we've owned (err I mean, own us) only 2 came from
pet stores, 2 from breeders, and the rest from shelters.  I love the old
farts.  They are so sweet and love every bit of attention you give them
(not to mention deserve it).  We've had ferrets for 6 years.  We have 15 at
the present and hope that math doesn't hit for awhile, no more cage room.
I'm a sucker for a cute face!  They range in age from 6 months to 6 years,
males, females, big ones, little ones, fat ones, skinny ones, poofers,
non-poofers (thank goodness), healthy ones, sick ones, ones that will be
going for surgery in the next couple of months... What can I say, my life
revolves around ferrets, I have no life!  I even started sewing again,
making hammocks, sleep sacks, and hanging pouchies to carry them around
in, I'm hopeless.  But, it's so VERY comforting to know that there are
thousands of people out there and on this list just like me!
