Hello everybody,

I've been lurking here for about a year now and have finally come to
an inpass where my fuzzy is concerened. First let me tell you about my
friend, Al is a 1 year old silver mitt who is full of life and is always
making me laugh. I'm in my last year here at ASU and will be graduating in
December with a BSE in Aerospace Engineering.

Anyway, my problem is about collars. Al doesn't seem to mind them, but
lastnight I checked his new collar and foundit extremely tight. All of his
previous collars he hides where I can't find them. The collar was a new
nylon one, for a cat or a small dog, that I purchased from the store last
week. When I put it on him it had plenty of extra room and could be slipped
off his head easily (he sometimes likes to carry them around in his mouth).
I removed this collar when I found that it had shrunk about 2 inches in
legnth ( it appears that he was scratching at it). This has left me with a
couple of questions:

Can I prevent this shrickage with a regular nylon collar in the future?
Can I find one that won't cause hime to itch (prevent this from occuring
            again)?
What can I do about the fur being matted under the collar when he is
            wearing it?
Is there a place that sells a "Ferret" collar (not a harness) in stead
of using one that has a large portion of the legnth doubled up
            to secure the buckle?

Thanks in advance,

Mike
