Howdy out there in ferret land!

I'm curious to know if anyone out there adds liver (calf or otherwise)
to their fuzzies diet? Earlier this summer, my 5 3/4 yr. old furkid,
Sasha, was diagnosed with anemia and the vet recommended that I add liver
to her diet to improve this condition. Was hoping this would also reduce
the enlargement of her spleen as well as the anemia might be causing the
organ to double in size.

Well, I bought calves liver from the grocery meat dept., cooked it,
ground it in a food processer with water to a puree and then added it to
my kiddos regular batch of 'chicken gravy' (ground 8-in-1 Ultimate or
Zupreem, chix baby food or ground chix - whichever I have on hand, water,
smidgeon of either Ferretone or bananna juice, and Nutrical).

Had been doing this for over a month and at Sasha's last check-up, she
showed a drastic improvement so I've decided to just keep the liver as
a regular ingredient in their soup from now on. Certainly couldn't hurt
and the liver is chock full of nutrients and they seem to absolutely
love it! And it hasn't made her poos runnier, which I was afraid might
happen.

Just curious to know if anyone else has tried anything similiar with
positive results? Feel free to email me directly or post on FML . . .

Thanks for your input :-)
