Although we have tried to contact those who were in the paths of Ike
and Gustav, I have heard of only two ferrets who were affected. Last
night, however, I learned of one shelter in the Houston area that
sustained major damage. If there are any people out there - including
shelters - who have lost their homes and need assistance, please let
us know. You can contact me at (860)906-8798 or the board by email at

F.E.R.R.E.T. members can help by providing temporary or permanent
housing; assisting with transportation to safe locations; providing
supplies such as food, bedding, cages and accessories; securing
appropriate medical care and providing disaster preparedness
information and resources to caregivers, veterinarians and volunteers.
