I'm not a vet, but my guys all had ECE several years ago - we tried
everything: Amoxicillin, Flagyl, Baytril, Centrine, Chloramphenicol,
but nothing worked.

I switched vets for an unrelated reason, and my new vet put the ones
with chronic green diarrhea on Albon. Albon is an antibiotic with an
anti-diarrheal agent in it, and it worked great! The best part about
it, is that it tastes good (yes, I checked myself) and you only give
it once a day. You may want to suggest that to your vet.

My vet's standard dose for ferrets is 0.50 cc/lb on day one, and 0.25 cc/lb,
day 2 thru 7.

If your vet wants to call him, I'm sure my vet will talk to him - my vet's
name is Dr. Allen Edwards, at Brockport Animal Hospital, 716-637-6190, and
he has had years of experience with lots of ferrets - he's our Shelter Vet
and many of our club members' vet as well.

Good Luck!
