ferret eye infection???

Does anyone know or has had a ferret with an eye infection??  My little
Marty has something wrong with his left eye as it looks red and a little
swollen and he opens it some but it is closed most of the time.  I
thought this was odd so I am asking for any help.  I am going to take
him to the Doc but haven't been able to get ahold of her as she is
moving.  I would really appreciate any help.  Thanks
