We had some great warm weather yesterday, (Wed), so being in the pet
sitting/dog walking business, I decided to take Miss Sheba (aka the
Screamer) out for a walk.

Not knowing how Sheba was going to react, I decided to make this debut walk
with a dog that is very well trained on the leash. I decided to take her to
meet Casey, a black lab. Her owner Jo helped us gather signatures for the
petition last summer.

I've designed a new sweatshirt w/ferret pouch, so I put Sheba's leash on
her, placed her in the pouch and started walking Casey on her usual route
aound the circle that Jo lives on. Casey was clueless that I had a little
one staring out from the pouch.

What a feeling I got walking around this neighborhood with a ferret out in
the open! A neighbor of Jo's saw Sheba peeping out from the pouch and came
right over to us to meet her!

Got all the way around, put Casey back in her home and as I was driving away
(Sheba was in her crate), Jo came up the street. I stopped her so she could
meet Miss Sheba, well, now a crowd was gathering! So glad we are legal.
Two of Jo's neighbors are police officers, one with the State and the other
with the local department.

Everyone was so receptive. I can't wait till "the winter that won't end"
finally goes away so I can do this more often.

Happy Ferreting!
