Valorie,
There are different severities of vaccine reactions.  The treatment depends
upon the severity.  They range from poor appetite and lethagery for 24 hrs.
(which usually don't have to be treated) to full blown repiratory and
circulatory failure.  The serious reactions that occur within 10-60 min. of
the vaccine are treated with dexamethasone (1mg/#) subQ or IM, Epinephrine
(1:10,000 concentration--0.05ml /1-2# ferret), and sometimes benadryl
(1-2mg/# )given IM.
