I have been dealing with the wood stove pellet dilemma all summer. I live
in Durham, NC and wood stove pellets are impossible to find out of wood
stove season. I did find out from the Lignetics company (brand I use)
that they could ship me some directly. Problem is, the minimum order is
a semi-truck load. That is really a little more than I could use. I was
forced to try the pine pellet litter. I found the odor (especially after
used) offensive. It hit you in the face as soon as you walked into the
house. Now I'm using Yesterday's News - newspaper pellets. While it's
WAY more expensive ($13/40lb) than the wood pellets, it's easier to live
with than the pine. I can't wait till there's a chill in the air and the
hardware store has wood stove pellets again at $4/40lbs! I'll be sure and
stockpile it in my storage barn for next summer!
