Bottle Rejection

When we adopted our ferret the store reccomended a Sunseed bottle so we
bought it.  We got tired of it leaking, drip - drip, into the cage.  So
we bought a SuperPet flatback bottle, the one with the cute lil duckie
float in it.  Our ferret won't use the bottle!  I've touched it & let him
lick the water from my finger.  I've put Ferret Lax around the stem (not
on the ball).  He just won't use it.  Any ideas why?  Any other tricks I
could try?
