I got in the habit with Pigpen, a deaf albino, to always stroke a
ferret a bit before picking them up when they're asleep to avoid
startling them. This always results in a sweet lazy yawn, sometimes
with the little paws curled around whiskery faces. The other day, I
found all four of my kids piled up sleeping together when it was time
to put them to bed and get their dinner. I scritched one on the head,
and got a cute little yawn, and then petted another and another and
got the same thing. Yawn, stretch, go back to sleep, yawn, stretch,
go back to sleep, yawn, stretch, go back to sleep. I know that's MY
favorite thing to do! At one point, I had all four of them yawning
simultaneously, and it was the cutest thing ever! It took me like
fifteen minutes to out them to bed, 'cause they were just too adorable
to just scoop up and put in a cage. They're so cute when they're
sleeping...
