fun story about my roommate I just had to share. my roommate and I each
have 6 ferrets. we have a 2 bedroom apartment and I have the bigger
bedroom, so she lets her ferrets out into the living room everyday after
work (I do it less often). what that means is that she has to find her
ferrets every night. now, Ina isn't the most patient of people, and while
there is a list of standard sleeping spots where most of them are hiding,
every now and then a ferret goes missing and Ina goes on a rampage,
banging walls and floors and hurling cushions aside. it's quite scary
and I try to stay out of the way. so Cloud went missing a couple of
nights ago, and the usual rampaging happens. after a while, Ina came and
said to me, I don't think Cloud is in the apartment. my brother was just
visiting earlier, so we start wondering if Cloud might have slipped out
or something. then Ina went into her room and yelled, found him! so
where was the missing ferret? well, apparently, Wasabi, her rather large,
whitish female, has grown an extra paw. so next time you are missing a
ferret, look for the 5-pawed weasel....

other misc stuff. really enjoyed ferrets 2002, it was great meeting so
many people (although it was even nicer to meet some of the ferrets at
CJ's). one of the talks I enjoyed the most was Wolfy's talk, and I look
forward to more of her stories about ferrets and children. other posts
I'm enjoying a lot right now are about Switch and Sabrina.

Dief's scheduled for insulinoma surgery next week, so I have been taking
him with me to school everyday in case he have a seizure. I have been
enjoying spending this extra time with him, and am a little confused as to
whether people are so unobservant as to not notice a ferret in my shirt,
or are too polite to comment on the fact that my stomach distorts in
strange ways. people in my lab are not so nice, they keep pointing out
that my stomach is whimpering and tell me to eat if I'm hungry. Dief's a
really well behaved ferret.

have a warm and fuzzy day.
