Hi everyone,

A ferret came to us a few months ago suffering from cardiomyopathy among
other things. He was put on digoxin, lasix and enacard. He had been doing
really well until last weekend, when he got very lethargic, had diarrhea,
vomiting and severe hind end weakness. The vet and I suspected digoxin
toxcity. He has been off of the dig since Sunday (4 days) he still is not
showing much improvement. Will eat only when persuaded and still very,
very weak. My question is has anyone dealt with this problem before with
their ferret with cardiac problems? How long did it take for them to
bounce back? Also, I was wondering if anyone's vet also had their ferret
take potassium while on lasix? My vet doesn't seem to think it is
necessary, but I know people taking lasix often have to supplement with it.

I would appreciate anyones experience with this, I really want to help this
old guy feel better.

Thanks for your help.
Julie
