Not to start the breeder/shelter issue again, but . . . (not bashing this
person - just using her post to illistrate my points)

But wouldn't you be looking anyway? Many MF ferrets are adrenal and a
swollen vulva is a big physical clue. This is something shelter moms and
dads should be checking for weekly if not more!

I would think that if any shelter was going to start breeding, they would
make sure they can pay for rabies vaccines, surgeries, etc BEFORE they
started breeding. How does it make people feel when a shelter/breeder
has a litter of kits and then asks for donations? What ferrets does the
donation help?

>I keep all shelter funds IN the shelter ferrets, they have seperate food
>bis, shamppos, everything.I keep receipts and am very careful.Sure, a lot
>of my own money is spent on them too, adoption fees don't cover everything.

This is the way it should be, folks. If you are going to do it - seperate
it. However, as a rescuer your RESCUE ferrets should come first before you
consider breeding.
