I was only trying to be a good mommy, and interact pleasantly with my
ferrets. So I taught them a few tricks. It has now backfired on me,
because Pepper, my treat-hound was the quickest to catch on, and the first
to use it against me! She now follows me around the house, begging and
rolling over, sitting at my shoes, pleading me, commanding me, 'Mom, go get
the raisins, or even a banana chip, anything'. When I pick her up to say,
'Sorry, no more treats, you've already had too many today' she licks my
nose, obviously another attempt to break my heart and my will. I never
thought I'd be so weak with a little fuzzball, but she really is breaking
my heart! I try to keep their treats to a minimum, no more than 2 raisins,
and 2 little broken pieces of banana chips, but she's wheedled extra out of
me every day this week. I don't want to make her sick. Any suggestions on
how to break a treat addict, or at least solve my co-dependancy problem???
I can't help it, I love these little brats.

Signed,
A weak Mom
