Sorry about not getting back to the list regarding Bo's mishap. One week
after his emergency trip to the vet, I took him to the regular vet clinic--
x-rays in hand and after a thorough exam and many questions Bo was
pronounced in A-1 condition and to be watched for the next two weeks. He is
doing just great, getting into everything, wrestling with Tye, etc. I was
truly amazed at how just being in separate cages how Bo & Tye missed each
other.

Yesterday, I had to give Tye a time out and put him in the carrier (thanks
to either the list or an article I read in Modern Ferret or one of the other
magazines about time outs to be in something other than their regular cage).
Well, he sure didn't like that very much and tried to rearrange litter box,
bedding, etc. while in there. Bo came along and just laid in front of the
carrier and kept coming over by me and going back to the carrier as if
asking me why his buddy was in the carrier and why he couldn't come out to
play. Five minutes later Bo was in the carrier for a time out. Tye did the
same thing as Bo -- prancing back and forth until the time out was over and
then the wrestling match was on. At least they weren't getting into
trouble.

Question regarding introducing a new animal to the boys. Recently Amy
adopted from the Wisconsin Humane Society a guinea pig appx. 4 months old.
After he is adjusted to the humans and able to be touched (former owners
were three children 7, 8, and 11). Can these three be introduced
successfully and can they play together? Do we need to arrange for separate
play times? The boys know there is another animal in the house but can't
figure out why they can't be near him.

While I was at the Humane Society I inquired about them getting in any
ferrets. The reply was "Oh, we don't accept ferrets for adoption. We take
them in but notify Ferret Fanciers that they have one in and they come and
pick them up." I asked why they did that and these was "Ferrets are wild
animals and not domesticated." I held my tongue and vowed that the Humane
Society needed some education on ferrets but I want to check into some
things first before I rally forth. I would love to work there and bring in
the boys and show them that they are not a wild animal.

Recently was at Animal Crackers pet store and they had a huge shipment of
kits in. Inquired as to there ages. 4-6 weeks and up. (MF's). I enjoyed
playing with the kits and some of them tried to nurse on my fingers. I
believe that this is too young for them to be in the stores. I agree with
alot of people on this list in re's to MF. I couldn't believe the prices
they were asking for these little ones ($115 to $149-- the silver mitts were
the higher priced).

Well spoke my piece of mind. Also if anyone has noticed my e-mail address
has been changed. This is where I can be contacted now since I lost my job
(terminated) as of 4/17. :( Anyone in the Milwaukee area know of any job
openings? Hitting the papers and the net. Any way it's more time with my
fuzzbutts.
