Hi Scott,

Some of our boys used to latch-on like you have described while they go
to sleep. With ours it seemed to be a dominance thing. They've mostly
grown out of it now, still get bouts of aggressive ear cleaning now and
again.

The ferret-vite we have in the UK (It may be the same but can't be
sure) tastes sweet to me so I don't use it in case the sugars cause
insulinoma. I believe there are studies being done that MAY show a
link between carb/sugar rich diets and insulinoma in ferrets.

As ever don't take any one person's word as gospel (especially mine)
but read everything you can find on the subject to form your own
conclusion.
