I keep wide variety of hammocks, blankies and such for my guys. I've had
no problems except for recently with the playhouse type of hammock
(round/cake shaped with a hole to climb in). I own two of these and there
are no tags for what brands they are. But, if you own one, check the
inside lining of the house. I noticed what looked like peeled rubber when
I cleaned cages the other day. Could not figure where it came from, but
when the hammocks and such came out of the dryer, there was more of it. I
then inspected all the blankies and hammocks to find this stuff lining the
floor of the playhouse. It appears to be some type of lining, but I guess
with the ferrets digging or scratching around before curling up, they just
peel this stuff off.

I turned the playhouse inside out and took a clean scrub brush to it to
remove all of it, it actually peels off quite easily. Don't know if it is
manufacturer related or what, but the playhouse that had this stuff was
neon green and yellow.

Just a warning to check your playhouses. We've had no problems because of
it, but everyone got a hairball treatment that night, just in case too!!!

Thanks and hugs to all,

jen and Gang
