Consider bumping up that sapy schedule if possible - but it is probably not
critical.  There are those that don't seem to go all the way to full swollen
as quickly as they should.  Talk with your vet about whether he thinks a
hormone injection might be a good idea.  If he thinks its safe enough to
administer for a partially in estrus jill then go with it.
 
If this is just starting in the past couple days then by the scheduled date
she might be more fully "in" and be an added complication for surgery.
 
We have seen this though not the completely "silent" estrus that Bob C's Jet
did.  It could be related to being slightly down with a cold but that is
conjecture.

Some hypothesize that ferrets take a mothering instinct (yes males too)
when they hear what sounds like a kit.

Ironically the better pellets for litter are the cheaper ones that have not
been coated.  The coating will make them blacken when they first get wet
before they disintegrate.
