This continuing innuendo about Marshall Farms does no one any good. The
result is usually inexperienced people writing here and on other lists and
newsgroups in a panic because they own MF ferrets and are convinced their
ferrets will die at any moment -- all because of rumors and PETA garbage
printed here and elsewhere. How much sense would it make for any animal
business to risk spreading infection as you say? A lost ferret is lost
revenue. I live within an hour of MF, and have spoken to someone who works
there. I heard nothing alarming, and was actually very impressed. No
business/farm is going to be ideal compared to the loving homes we give
our own ferrets, but I believe, in the case of Marshall Farms, that they
do their best. And we're supposed to believe PETA, the same group that
says a Hoof and Mouth outbreak would be good in the US because it would put
farmers out of business??? These people are delusional and dangerous.

The PETA crowd gets upset if they don't learn the names of MF employees,
but outlandish posts like this are exactly the reason that MF employees
with any kind of responsible role don't want their names made public.
They don't want freaks waving signs in front of their homes, frightening
their families, or worse, causing physical danger to them or the ferrets.
Remember that doctor who was murdered by an extremist in front of his
family in his own kitchen in NY state??? For the record, I'll give you
the last name of the MF person I've personally spoken to. His last name
is Marshall. Naturally, I consider him a reliable source. And he loves
ferrets.

Please stop frightening people with this PETA line of nonsense. I know
I was frightened when I first read some of these accusations over a year
ago. I was frightened for my two beloved MF ferrets. Then I did some
fact-finding from *reliable* sources, and relaxed. My MF ferrets are now
5 years old and the picture of health and energy. And *that's* a fact.
