O.k. You asked for it! :-) Here's my opinion and we ALL know what that's
worth! Actually, it's a story.

I bought my first ferret not knowing a ferret from a hole in the ground.
I put a collar with a bell on it just like the nice people at the pet store
told me to. When I woke up on day two, she was struggling with it around
her bottom jaw and was hung up pretty tight. I got it cut off and have
NEVER put a collar on her or any ferrets since. I felt so bad. Heck, I
still get sick at my tummy thinking about it. I do know that you have to
collar them sometimes to walk them on a leash if you don't use a harness,
but that's all I would suggest.

Heck, they sleep so much and the only time they are moving around is when I
play with them, I just don't see the need for the collar. Especially since
they never go out.

Anyway - there it is, my opinion! :-)

April and the nekkid ferrets (no collars)
