Rick White, THANK YOU for the good news!
Quarantine is now REQUIRED for Texas ferrets in a "bite" situation!  And,
because the rabies vaccine is not *yet* (but soon!) required here by law for
ferts, even *unvaccinated* pets are covered by the quarantine!  No more
unnecessary testing!
 
Please, tho', DON'T take this as an excuse to not get your ferret vaccinated
for rabies in Texas.  Even if the chance for rabies exposure is less than a
raisin's chance in a ferret dish, it is still far better safe than sorry.
And, it helps to convince local authorities that we are serious about
protecting our pets!
