Thanks to all who enquired about our kits, they are doing mighty well and
now are oozing out of their boxes like .... well, I honestly don't know ...
something out of Aliens, perhaps :-))

No, the little ones are doing great but the first litter want to go
walkabout and now are rearing their beautiful heads out of the top of their
breeding box to see the world! This is the 4 week old lot (Friskie's). The
2-1/2 week old lot (Fidget's) are still being jealously guarded by their
mother!

It's quite incredible to see the different personalities of the mothers -
Friskie HATES using her litter box - I have to put newspaper down and she
will poop all over it but leave the litter box clean. Not only that but she
throws her Iams kitten food around so that the whole floor area is covered
with debris! Go figure! Friskie is also very gregarious and insists that I
let her out 2-3 times a day so that she can socialise with our other (free
range) ferrets! She dook dooks like an old woman (which I am so puleeze
don't flame me about sexist terms :-)) and makes sure that everyone in the
family is where they should be before she allows me to take her back to the
babies!

Fidget, on the other hand, is a neat eater, a neat pooper and is incredibly
jealous of ANYONE near her babies. She is aggressive towards all of her old
friends and companions, as well as towards the cats and dog who were once
her buddies. VERY protective - but she hasn't been nasty to us humanoids!

I would be very interested to hear from breeders (like Bill Killian and Pam
Grant) if they have had similar experiences. Please email me direct if you
think it's not an FML issue.

Mulder (Scully's replacement) is like a miniture polar bear - he is bigger
than all my old boys but still has the baby "hhrrkk" in all his vocabulary!
He is very excitable and quite often comes up onto the bed, grabs my left
earlobe and I turn right while he turns left ... OW! But he is SUPER and we
wouldn't be without him - has anyone else experienced the fact that BEWs
tend to "Gallop"? None of our others make so much noise but Scully was a
real racehorse down the corridor and now Mulder has taken over - I love it!!

Mo' Bob - I adore your posts .... come fight for ferrets in Queensland for
us :-) ... that last posting had us all LOL! Keep up the very very good
work!
